Videos beyond 4K will be delivered using the HEVC (h.265) video codec. Since support for HEVC playback only exists for newer generation devices and platforms, you’ll need to view them from specific hardware and software to view video qualities beyond 4K (e.g 5K, 6K, 8K). We’ll automatically default to the highest quality playback file supported by your viewing environment.
Microsoft Edge 15+ (with supported hardware)
Supported Operating Systems:
MacOS 10.13 High Sierra
The following viewing environments are not currently supported for playback above 4K:
Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera
Mobile devices- iOS and Android (includes the Vimeo app and mobile browsers)
TV- Apple TV, Roku, etc.
If the content owner enables downloading, all playback versions will be available for download on desktop (in all browsers). To view it on your computer, you’ll need to use a player that supports HEVC playback. We recommend using the latest version of VLC media player.
